Our drop-in centre provides daily peer support to Khmer LGBTIQ+ individuals. We are staffed by Khmer LGBTIQ+ individuals and allies who meet regularly to check in with each other, provide and receive training, discuss issues that visitors have or may present with, and workshop ideas about new events we can run to engage the community. We have previously run “colour and coffee” sessions (with LGBTIQ+ themed pictures of course), general art and craft sessions, Nintendo competitions, mobile HIV rapid testing clinics, LGBTIQ+ themed movie nights, philosophical discussions, art therapy sessions, info sessions, music sessions, and morreeeee!

Our staff are employed on a casual basis and paid $5 per shift (4pm – 7pm). We try to ensure there are at least 2 staff on at any given drop-in session. They are responsible for running the session, welcoming visitors, responding to any queries they have, referring them to appropriate resources or organizations where necessary, maintaining the privacy of our visitors and their visits, maintaining our social media pages and planning, advertising and running their own monthly events.

Cost breakdown (USD):
$5 per person (x2 people per shift) = $10 per day
30 days x $10 per day = $300 per month
12 months x $300 per month = $3600 per year
